Northwest Missouri State University women's golfers
Lauren Briggs and
Clara Peake paced the Bearcats on day one of the Grace Shin Invite held at The Golf Club of Edmond on Monday.
Briggs bagged four birdies and shot one-under par (70), while Peake tallied three birdies and shot an even-par round of 71. Briggs is in fourth place and Peake is in eight place following the opening round.
Briggs' opening round of 70 is tied for the fifth-best single round in program history. Peake's score of 71 is tied for the 10th-best single-round in school history.
The Bearcats shot an opening-round team score of 297 (+13) and sit in fourth place. The Bearcats sit 13 shots out of first place as Central Missouri opened with a team score of 284. Central Oklahoma is in second place at 288 and Arkansas Tech is third with 292 strokes. Northwest's team score of 297 is tied for the sixth-best single-round team score in program history.
