The Northwest Missouri State University department of athletics wrapped up a highly successful inaugural Bleed Green Athletic Day of Giving Thursday.
 
The first time athletic-focused giving day produced $190,379 from 1,868 donors – far exceeding expectations for the 30-hour event. Support came from 40 states and nine countries.
 
Dr. Andy Peterson thanked the effort of Bearcat supporters for the success of the event.
 
"Our coaches have been charged with engaging with you and helping you to feel like you are a part of the program because your participation over the last two days means you are," Peterson said. "We cannot do what we need to without your financial support, but more than that, you help provide more 'why' for our student-athletes and coaches to do their absolute best, day-in and day-out. Kudos to our supporters for sharing your treasures with us. We cannot wait to see how these connections spur us forward as individual sport programs and as an entire athletic department."
