DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Rangers (1-0) strung together an 11-run third inning to secure the season-opening win over the Northwest Missouri State University baseball team (0-1) Friday at Regis Baseball Field.Â

Regis plated runs in every inning except the seventh in a 25-6 victory.

Ryan Williams led the Bearcats, going 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs.
Kaehukai Young launched Northwest's first home run of the season, a solo shot in the fifth, and finished with three RBIs on the day.

Northwest wasted no time getting on the board in the top of the first.
Dylan Hufft sparked the offense with a leadoff double down the left-field line before advancing to third on a Williams lineout.
Ashton Neuman delivered the Bearcats' first run of the season with an RBI single, followed by Young's base hit up the middle to bring in Neuman for a quick 2-0 lead. Â

Regis responded in the bottom half, plating three runs on three hits, met by a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead after one inning.

George Fisher ran into early trouble as the Rangers launched their second home run of the afternoon to lead off the bottom of the second, extending their lead to 4-2. Despite the early blasts, Fisher escaped further damage.Â

Regis struck again in the third with another leadoff homer, pushing its lead to 5-2. Fisher (0-1) exited in the inning, giving way to Williston, N.D., native
Jaxon Meyer. Fisher finished his outing with 2.2 innings pitched, six hits, nine runs (seven earned), three walks, and two strikeouts. The Rangers broke the game open with 11 runs on seven-hits, highlighted by Maxim Fullerton's grand slam and a pair of additional runs.
Garrett Stoll came in for Meyer to record the final out of the inning, trailing 15-2.Â

Young launched his first home run of the season—and the seventh of his career—to lead off the top of the fifth, but the Bearcats still faced a steep 16-2 deficit. Â

Austin O'Gorman made his collegiate debut in the sixth inning, recording one out while allowing six earned runs and two walks. Â

Regis tacked on three runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth, securing a dominant 25-6 win in the season opener.
