Bearcats claim 12 titles on Saturday at Coach Richard Alsup Open

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's indoor track and field teams claimed 12 event titles Saturday at the Coach Richard Alsup Open inside Hughes Fieldhouse. 
 
Three meet records were shattered during Saturday's action. 
 
Senior Moses Koroma's preliminary record time wasn't set for long in the 60-meter hurdles, as he crossed the finals' line at 7.94, a new school record – currently the second-fastest time in Div. II this season. Koroma's school record-breaking time shatters an all-time mark, held by Tyler Shaw in 2011(7.97).
 
FIELD EVENTS:
(M) High Jump: Jeremiah Rainey-Dunlap took sixth, with a final height of 1.88 meters (6-02). 

Competing as an unattached athlete, former Bearcat high-jumper Blake Morgan took the first-place crown, with a division II provisional height of 2.06 meters (6-09). Morgan nearly cleared 2.15 meters (7-00.50). 

(M) Long Jump: Wyatt Garner claimed third in the event, jumping 6.50 meters (21-04.00). Frank Sparks (6.31m) took eighth, as Jonathan Hedrick (6.09m) placed 10th. 

(W) Long Jump: Campbell Barta placed second, behind Park U's Rosjai Curtis (5.81m) with a jump of 5.52 meters (18-01.50). 

(M) Triple Jump: Freshman Jonathan Hedrick claimed a fourth-place finish in the event, jumping 12.80-meters (42-00). 
 
RUNNING EVENTS:
(M) 60-meter Dash: Dominic Sedlacek qualified for finals with a Div. II provisional time of 6.81q, as Joel Dos Santos also qualified with a time about 6.89q. Sedlacek continued his dominance in the event, setting a new provisional time of 6.80. 

(W) 60-meter Dash: Three 'Cats qualified for finals. Lexie Gilbert (7.66q), Campbell Barta (7.70q) and Hallie Henfling (7.91q). Barta took second in finals, running a 7.65. Gilbert placed just behind Barta, crossing the line at 7.72, as Henfling claimed seventh at 7.96. 

(M) 60-meter Hurdles: Senior Moses Koroma breezed through the qualifying heat in the event, marking a new Coach Richard Alsup Open meet record, school record, and a provisional time of 8.01. 

Freshman Frank Sparks also snatched a provisional qualifying time of 8.17, also making the final heat. 

Kormoa's preliminary time wasn't set for long, as he crossed the finals' line at 7.94, a new school record – currently sits as the second-fastest time in Div. II this season. Koroma's school record-breaking time shatters a record, held by Tyler Shaw in 2011(7.97).

(W) 60-meter Hurdles: Hannah Hatzenbuehler qualified for finals with a time of 9.25. Hatzenbuehler would claim fourth, crossing the line at 9.32 in finals. 

(M) 200-meter Dash: Xavier Horn (22.79) and Quinn Gruver (22.81) finished eighth and tenth, respectively, in the event. 

(W) 200-meter Dash: Chloe Saenz claimed the event crown with a time of 24.76, as Lexie Gilbert placed just behind Saenz in second, crossing the line at 25.17. 

(M) 400-meter Dash: Prince Griffin returned to 2025 action with a meet record time of 47.08, as Keith Griffin III finished behind at 48.19 – each Div. II provisional times. Griffin's time of 47.08 stands as the fastest among Div. II athletes this indoor season. 

(W) 400-meter Dash: Northwest went two-three-four in the event, all providing Div. II provisional marks - Chloe Saenz (55.35), Melanie Roland (55.91) and Jadyn Barnes (56.11). 

Competing as an unattached runner, Tiffany Hughey provided a provisional time of 54.29, claiming the event crown. 
 
(M) 600-yard Dash: Logan Arellano nearly claimed the crown, yet finishing second with a time of 1:11.14. 

(M) 800-meter Run: Touron took his second crown of the day, crossing the line at 1:53.75. Charlie Kinslow claimed third with a time of 1:55.34, as Bret Beard took fifth. 

(W) 800-meter Run: Complete dominance from the 'Cats in the event. Marie Dea and Lydia McGlocklin (4th in Div. II) went one and two. Dea caught the upper edge for the meet record, finishing at 2:10.31, as McGlocklin's time was finalized at 2:10.64 – Div. II provisional times. 

(M) Mile: Maxime Touron tacked on his success at Hughes Fieldhouse, setting a new school record time of 4:04.53, a Div. II provisional time. Touron's time currently sits fifth in the nation, behind Grant Bradley. Grayson Tapp (4:08.20) and Riley Witt (4:11.74) sat behind Touron in second and third. Tapp's time is a Div. II provisional mark. 

(W) Mile: Alyna Thibault ran a blistering provisional time of 4:54.41, claiming the top spot in the event. Breelie Mauro took third, crossing the line at 5:15.19. 

(M) 3000-meter Run: Drew Atkins put up a personal best, and Div. II provisional, time of 8:06.40 – stands as No. 2 in school history. Tyler Blay was a place behind, crossing the line at 8:18.65. 

(W) 3000-meter Run: The top four spots in the event were held by Bearcats. Alyna Thibault (9:59.58), Lydia McGlocklin (10:01.47), Mayson Hartley (10:11.12) and Whitney Post (10:20.43) all took control of the race. 

(M) 5000-meter Run: Freshman Nick Kilonzo was the Bearcats' highest finisher in fifth place, crossing the line at 15:20.99. Closely behind, Elijah Dix placed seventh with a time of 15:24.22, as Austin Goetsche finished behind in eight at 15:26.87. 

(W) 5000-meter Run: All three Bearcats competing placed within the top ten, going five-six-seven in the event. Shelby Harris placed fifth with a time of 18:28.51, followed by Amanda Seggerman at 18:46.31, and Jessa Cassity at 18:51.16. 
 
RELAYS:
(M) 4x400-meter Relay: Each of the three men's 4x400-meter relay team placed within the top five in the event. The quartet of Prince Griffin, Logan Arellano, Keith Griffin III and Truman Hare posted a new meet record, also securing the nation's second-fastest time of 3:10.66. 

Northwest's "C" squad placed third with a time of 3:23.31.

The team of Christian Lanphier, Bentley St. John, Juan Hernandez and Quinn Gruver came in fourth with a time of 3:27.07. 

(W) 4x400-meter Relay: Two of the three relay squads finished one and two in the event. The team of Federica Lega, Marie Dea, Lexie Gilbert and Jaedy Commins claimed first with a Div. II provisional time of 3:51.29, as the quartet of Anjelena Carder, Jadyn Barnes, Courtney Kiley and Bailey Blake came in second at 3:51.78.
