TOPEKA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team fell 3-2 to the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons in a neutral-site game at Yager Stadium.
Northwest (0-1-1) came up just short in a clash with UMSL (2-0-0), as Jada Holloman scored two goals in less than a minute to seal the match for the Tritons.
The Tritons started aggressively, taking three shots in the first 15 minutes, and it paid off when Kamryn Ealey scored to give UMSL a 1-0 lead just past the 15-minute mark. Northwest quickly responded, with
Ekaterina Theoharidis netting her second goal of the season to equalize the score at the 18-minute mark. Theoharidis stayed involved in the first-half offensive attack, assisting
Lucia Fernandez for her first goal of the season, making it 2-1 'Cats in the 30th minute.

Lily Ellis tallied four saves in the half, holding the Tritons to one goal.
The Tritons surged ahead in the 63rd minute with two quick goals, both scored by UMSL's Jada Holloman, eventually giving them a 3-2 victory over Northwest.
Northwest was outshot 17-to-12, as well as shots on goal, 10-to-8. Ellis secured seven saves in the match, bringing her career total to 169.

Northwest prepares for a three-game slate next week, starting with a road matchup at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The Bearcats will then return home for a pair of home matches against Grand Valley State on Sept. 13 and Minnesota State on Sept. 15.
