The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team had seven competitors in action Friday in the opening day of the 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional held at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, Kan.
 
Newcomer Dominik Wijntjes reached the round of 16 in the main singles draw with a pair of three-set triumphs. He knocked off No. 8-seeded Henry Dornbusch (Augustana) in the first round, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9). Wijntjes then took down Ouachita Baptist's Yarin Aebi, 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) to move on to Saturday's play.
 
Day two action will get underway Saturday morning.
