KEARNEY, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf squad posted the second-lowest 36-home team score in program history at the 2024 MIAA Fall Preview held at Meadowlark Hills Golf Club on a par-71 course.
 
The Bearcats put up a second-round team score of 309 after notching an opening-round score of 305. The 614 total is seven shots off the school record of 607 set at the USF Fall Invitational on Oct. 9-10, 2023.
 
Northwest placed ninth in the 15-team event.
 
Madilyne Schlaepfer was Northwest's top finisher. Schlaepfer took 16th place with a second-round 77 and a two-round total of 151 (+9). Schlaepfer scored her lone birdie of the round on the par-3 15th hole. Schlaepfer tallied 11 pars, including eight on the front side as she shot 37 going out.
 
Paige Hoffman finished a shot back of Schlaepfer with a second-round 78. Hoffman tallied scores of 74-78 (+10) in the 36-hole event. Hoffman put up her only birdie of the round at the par-5 6th hole.
 
Lauren Briggs posted Northwest's best round of the day with a five-over score of 76. Briggs carded rounds of 77-76 for a two-day total of 153 (+11). Briggs garnered a birdie on the par-5 second hole. Briggs shot a 1-over 36 on the back side that included eight pars.
 
Lexi Bartley broke 80 with a 79 in the final round. Bartley tied for 47^th at 17-over par for the tournament. Bartley secured a birdie at the par-5 sixth hole for her only birdie of the day. Bartley buried 11 pars in her final round.
 
Kayla Moline tied for 58^th as she shaved six strokes off her first-round score with a 78 on Tuesday. Moline sank a birdie at the par-4 third hole. Moline also drained 11 pars in her final round.
 
Lauren Kohl competed as an individual and shot rounds of 89 and 87. She made a birdie on the par-4 11th hole on Tuesday.
 
The Bearcats will be in action again this weekend at the Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Invitational. The two-day event will be played at Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn.
