Bearcats blaze at Concordia Twilight

The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field squads put on blazing performances at the Concordia Twilight by securing two school records and five event-winners.

Northwest posted school records in the the men's 4x100-meter relay (Dominic Sedlaceck, Joel Dos Santos, Gavyn Monday and Enrico Cavagna) and Maxime Touron in the men's 800 meters.

400-meter Dash (W): Jadyn Barnes secured second place with a provisional time of 55.83 seconds. 

400-meter dash (M): Truman Hare set a new personal best and provisional time of 47.39 seconds, claiming second place. Hare now ranks at No. 8 in Bearcat history. Zach Pittman crossed the line in 10th place with a time of 50.16 seconds.


4x100M Relay (M): Northwest's team of Sedlacek, Dos Santos, Monday and  Cavagna set a new Bulldog Stadium and school record with a time of 39.60 seconds. This time surpasses the previous record of 39.79 seconds set on May 27, 2023, and currently stands as the top time in Division II this season.


100-meter dash (W): Lexie Gilbert recorded the third-fastest qualifying time of 11.94 seconds. Gilbert did not compete in the final.


100-meter dash (M): Cavagna and Dos Santos both qualified for the finals. Cavagna secured the fourth-fastest time of 10.47 seconds, while Dos Santos recorded the fifth-fastest time of 10.50 seconds. Neither took part in the 100-meter final. 


1500-meter Run (W): Alyna Thibault placed fifth with a time of 4:45.30. 


400-meter H (W): Luisarys Toledo claimed the crown with a new Bulldog Stadium record time of 59.89 seconds. Toledo produced her fifth NCAA provisional qualifying effort this spring as she secured a time of 59.89 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Concordia Twilight. Her time of 59.89 ranks as the second-best clocking in school history. It is the 14th-best time in the nation this spring in the event. Toledo has gained provisional times/marks in the javelin, long jump, 400 meters, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay. Jaedy Commins placed fourth with a provisional time of 1:01.94. 


400-meter H (M): Danny Jantzen claimed another crown for Northwest as he crossed the line at 53.07 seconds - a Div. II provisional time. Matt Goeckel placed 13th with a time of 56.61 seconds. 


200-meter dash (M): Zach Pittman secured eighth place as he crossed the line at 22.82 seconds. 


800-meter run (W): Lydia McGlocklin secured an event crown with a provisional time 2:09.10, which ranks No. 19 in Div. II this season. McGlockin's time is the fourth-best in Bearcat outdoor history.. Kaylee Harp took second with a provisional time of 2:10.02. Bailey Blake claimed 11th with a final time of 2:18.60. 


800-meter run (M): Maxime Touron claimed Northwest's fifth event title of the day in the event. Touron's time of 1:49.48 shattered the Bulldog Stadium record, and broke his own school record of 1:50.04. Touron is tied for seventh-fastest in Div. II. Riley Witt secured second place with a time of 1:49.57, which ranks as the second-best in Bearcat history and ninth in Div. II. Touron and Witt are the first two Bearcats to post sub-1:50.00 times in school history.


Northwest will be back in action Saturday at the Loper Twilight in Kearney, Neb. Action will get underway at 2 p.m.
