Alexander, Theobald gain NFL free agent tryout camp invitations

A pair of former Northwest Missouri State University football performers have earned National Football League free agent tryout camp invitations following the 2024 NFL Draft.

Wide receiver Trevon Alexander and offensive lineman Andrew Theobald each received invites to NFL free agent tryout camps. Alexander gained his chance to the New York Jets, while Theobald got his opportunity with the Miami Dolphins.

Alexander (Richmond, Mo.) capped his Bearcat career having played in 33 games with 76 receptions for 1,179 yards. Alexander tallied 12 touchdown receptions as a Bearcat. He led the Bearcats in 2023 with eight touchdown receptions. Alexander notched 31 catches for 441 yards as a senior wideout. In 2023, Alexander caught at least one touchdown in six different games. He recorded at least two receptions in 10 of the 11 games this past year. Alexander set a career-high with 126 receiving yards vs. Lincoln on Sept. 10, 2022. Alexander transferred to Northwest after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Theobald (Boise, Idaho) started at left tackle for eight games during the 2023 season. Theobald made seven starts at tackle during the 2022 season. He joined the Bearcats in 2022 after transferring from Tusculum University in Greenville, Tenn.
