The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field teams are set to compete in the Midwest Classic in Emporia, Kan., Leopard Distance Carnival in La Verne, Calif., and the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif.
Midwest Classic:
Due to gusty winds on Saturday, the Midwest Classic has been condensed to a two-day meet (Thursday & Friday) instead of three days. The multi-events will begin on Thursday at 1 p.m., with the hammer throw at 2:30 p.m. On Friday, multi-events will resume at 9:30 a.m., with running events scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and running events at 11:30 a.m.
Leopard Distance Carnival:
The women's 4x800 relay will kick off the Leopard Distance Carnival at 4:15 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at $10, ages 18 and under are free of charge.
Bryan Clay Invitational:
Multi-events will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, as the Steeplechases will start at 4:45 p.m. Multi-events will resume at 9 a.m. on Friday, as women's discus begins at 9:30 a.m. On Saturday, running events will begin at 10 a.m., starting with the men's 4x100 relay. Field events will also begin at 10 a.m.
2024 NCAA Outdoor Provisional Marks (Women)
100m dash (W):
Lexie Gilbert provided a provisional time of 11.54 at the 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic.
200m dash (W):
Tiffany Hughey (23.70) and Gilbert (24.10) both ran provisional times at the 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic.
400m dash (W): Hughey notched her second provisional time at the Gorilla Classic with a 400-meter dash time of 53.54, which ranks No. 4 in Div. II this season.
400mH (W):
Jaedy Commins crossed the line at 1:02.26 at the Gorilla Classic, securing a provisional time.
4x400m Relay (W): The quartet of
Chloe Saenz,
Luisarys Toledo,
Kaylee Harp, and Hughey marked the nation's top time of 3:37.78 at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Long jump (W): Toledo secured a provisional mark of 6.13 meters at the Gorilla Classic, placing her fifth in Div. II thus far.
Heptathlon (W):
Anna Gladstone secured a provisional spot in the event with 4,580 points at the Bobcat Invitational.
2024 NCAA Outdoor Provisional Marks (Men)
100m dash (M):
Joel Dos Santos ran a provisional time of 10.38 at the Bobcat Invitational.
200m dash (M): Dos Santos secured another provisional mark at the Bobcat Invitational with a time of 21.21.
400m dash (M):
Prince Griffin set a provisional time of 47.29 at the Bobcat Invitational, ranking him twelfth in Div. II.
5000m run (M): At the Emporia State Relays,
Drew Atkins secured a provisional time of 14:19.67.
4x100 Relay (M):
Dominic Sedlacek, Dos Santos,
Zac Anderson, and
Enrico Cavagna ran the nation's third-best time of 40.03 at the Bobcat Invitational.
The Northwest women's outdoor track and field squad has jumped to No. 13 in the latest USTFCCCA Index, while the men's team is ranked No. 42.
