MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Northwest Missouri State University outdoor track and field squads had numerous event winners at the Bearcat Tuneup on Sunday, including a school record in the Javelin throw.
The Bearcats crowned 15 event champions during the Bearcat Tuneup.
Field Events
Javelin (W): The Bearcats went one, two, and three in the event.
Luisarys Toledo took the crown, setting a new school record with a provisional throw of 46.43 meters (152-04). Toledo's throw breaks a seven-year-old record set by Shelley Laures (5/25/17) and sits fourth-best in the MIAA and eighth-best in Div. II this season.
Journey Lyons came in second place with a throw of 41.33 meters (135-07).
Addison Long claimed third with a throw of 39.10 meters (128-03).

Long Jump (W):
Kyah Luhring took the crown with a leap of 5.66 meters (18-07).
Grace Hill claimed third place with a jump of 5.18 meters.
Long Jump (M):
Drew Beachler claimed the event crown with a leap of 7.18 meters (23-06.75).
High Jump (M):
Blake Morgan won the event with a jump of 2.03 meters (6-08), as
Jeremiah Rainey-Dunlap took second with a jump of 1.90 meters (6-02.75).
High Jump (W):
Anna Gladstone took the crown with a mark of 1.55 meters (5-01).
Hammer Throw (W):
Alli Poage posted a mark of 35.48 meters (116-05), claiming fifth place.
Discus (W):
Quinn Weakley took fourth with a throw of 36.40 meters (119-05), as Poage placed fifth with a final throw of 31.77 meters (104-02).
Shot Put (W): Weakley claimed third place with a throw of 12.00 meters (39-04.50).
Running Events
4x100 Relay (M): Both Bearcat relay teams claimed first and second place in the event. The quartet of
Dominic Sedlacek,
Joel Dos Santos,
Zac Anderson, and
Enrico Cavagna took first place with a provisional time of 40.46 seconds. The team of
Jacey Hutson,
Xavier Horn,
Quinn Gruver, and
Mason Swaney took second place with a time of 42.08 seconds.
100-meter H (W):
Anna Gladstone claimed the crown in the event, crossing the line at 14.80 seconds.
400-meter dash (W): The Bearcats also went one, two, and three in the event. Toledo claimed the event crown with a provisional time of 53.33 seconds.
Jadyn Barnes came in second place with a new personal best time of 56.37 seconds.
Federica Lega took third, crossing the line at 58.07 seconds.
400-meter dash (M):
Truman Hare took first place with a provisional time of 47.63 seconds.
Gavyn Monday came in second place, crossing the line at 48.34 seconds.
Logan Arellano finished in 48.42 seconds, placing third.
Zach Pittman posted a fifth-place finish with a time of 49.59 seconds.
100-meter dash (W):
Jaurdin Mallory claimed second place, crossing the line at 12.32 seconds.
Reese Brown crossed the line in 12.73 seconds in fifth place.
100-meter dash (M): Cavagna and Sedlacek's one and two finish came down to a thousandth of a second, both receiving provisional times. Cavagna edged Sedlacek claiming first, with a time of 10.477 seconds as Sedlacek finished at 10.489 seconds. Andersen placed third with a time of 10.86 seconds.
800-meter run (W):
Kaylee Harp took second place with a time of 2:12.63.
400-meter H (W):
Jaedy Commins secured first place with a time of 1:02.59.
400-meter H (M):
Matt Goeckel also claimed a first-place finish in the event with a time of 1:05.21.
200-meter dash (M): Cavagna capped off his three-event crown day with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.27 seconds. Pittman came in third with a time of 22.46 seconds.
Christian Lanphier posted a fourth-place finish, crossing the line at 22.53 seconds.
200-meter dash (W):
Lexie Gilbert took the event crown, crossing the finish line at 24.40 seconds.
Jadyn Barnes came in second place with a time of 25.09 seconds. Mallory finished in fifth place, crossing the line at 25.63 seconds.
4x400 Relay (M): Both Bearcat teams posted first and second-place finishes in the event. The quartet of
Mason Swaney,
Cooper Greenslade,
Matt Goeckel, and
Jacey Hutson claimed first place with a time of 3:31.32. The team of
Quinn Gruver,
Ethan Easter,
Alex Jackson, and
Zach Pittman took second, crossing the line in 3:31.55.
Northwest outdoor track and field is set for the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open on Thursday, April 25.
