Men's medley takes third; Bearcats advance seven to finals

PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State University track and field squads completed the first day of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships with All-America performances in the men's and women's DMR.   

Running Events:
60-meterH (W): Ally Hammond ran a preliminary time of 8.61, finishing in 13th place in the event. 

60-meter dash (W): Hammond finished with a time of 7.71 in the event. 

400-meter dash (M): Prince Griffin qualified for finals in the event, with a preliminary time of 47.51. Griffin's time sits at No. 6 overall. 

400-meter dash (W): A trio of Bearcats have qualified for finals in the event. Tiffany Hughey sits No. 3 overall with a preliminary time of 53.51. In fourth place behind Hughey is Luisarys Toledo with a personal best time of 53.65. Chloe Saenz crossed the line in a new personal best time of 54.26. Saenz's time sits at No. 7 overall. 

800-meter run (M): Sophomore Maxime Touron sits seventh in the event. Touron crossed the finish line in 1:51.54, securing a spot in tomorrow's finals. 

800-meter run (W): Junior Kaylee Harp ran the fourth-fastest qualifying time of 2:09.06 to secure a spot in tomorrow's finals. 

200-meter dash (M): Junior Joel Dos Santos has qualified for tomorrow's finals heat with a preliminary time of 21.52. 

Distance Medley Relay (M): The quartet of Riley Witt, Enrico Cavagna, Maxime Touron, and Nate Mueller picked up an All-America performance, taking a third-place finish in the event with a school-record time of 9:45.14. This is the third time in Northwest history that a men's distance medley relay has earned an All-America honor. T

Distance Medley Relay (W): The quartet of Lydia McGlocklin, Jadyn Barnes, Bailey Blake, and Alyna Thibault tabbed an All-America honor, while securing a sixth-place finish with a final time of 11:28.67.
