Atkins sets meet record; McCreedy claims steeplechase crown at ESU Relays

The Northwest Missouri State University track and field squads completed day one of a three-meet weekend trifecta, claiming two event crowns and a meet record. 

ESU Relays
Running Events:
3000-meter Steeplechase (M): Nate Mueller took the bronze in the 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 9.23.64. Cooper Greenslade took sixth with a time of 9:54.58. Freshman Alex Jackson claimed ninth with a time of 10:09.13. 

3000-meter Steeplechase (W): Taylor McCreedy took home the gold in the event with a time of 11:20.71, as Whitney Post took the third with a time of 11:33.24. McCreedy's time now sits fifth in Bearcat history. 

1500-meter run (W): Lydia McGlocklin claimed second place with a time of 4:43.93. Alyna Thibault finished in fourth place with a time of 4:46.72. Mayson Hartley took seventh with a final time of 4:51.28. 

1500-meter run (M): Maxime Touron placed second with a time of 3:53.40, as Riley Witt posted a final time of 3:57.80 in sixth place. 

800-meter run (W): McGlocklin took fourth, crossing the finish line at 2:16.38. Right behind in fifth was Thibault with a time of 2:18.42. 

800-meter run (M): Riley Witt took seventh with a time of 1:56.95. 

100-meter dash (W): Jaurdin Mallory placed 15th with a time of 12.46, as Reese Brown placed 20th, crossing the finish line at 12.59. 

100-meter H (W): Grace Hill placed tenth with a time of 15.50. 

400-meter dash (M): Xavier Horn claimed 13th with a time of 50.09, and Mason Swaney took 16th place with a final time of 50.73. 

5000-meter run (M): Drew Atkins scorched the ESU Relay meet record with a provisional time of 14:19.67, claiming the crown in the event. Atkins' time sits third all-time in Bearcat history, and third across Div. II this season. Tyler Blay finished second with a time of 14:40.04. 

5000-meter run (W): Shelby Harris took 11th place in the event, crossing the line at 19:10.35. 

4x100M Relay (M): The quartet of Jacey Hutson, Isaiah Zelasney, Quinn Gruver, and Mason Swaney finished in eighth place with a time of 42.89. 

4x100M Relay (W): The quartet of Reese Brown, Hallie Henfling, Grace Hill, and Jaurdin Mallory placed sixth with a time of 48.61. 

4x400M Relay (M): The team of Mason Dobbins, Zach Pittman, Christian Lanphier, Xavier Horn claimed eighth place, finishing with a time of 3:26.26. 

4x800M Relay (W): The team of Mayson Hartley, Bree Mauro, Kaitlyn Mlnarik, and Shelby Harris claimed second place with a time of 9:53.38. 

The Northwest women put up 51 points in fifth place. The Northwest men tallied 46 points and placed eighth. 

Field Events:
Long jump (M): Drew Beachler claimed sixth place with a final jump of 7.05 meters (23-01.75).


Bobcat Invitational
Running Events:
800-meter run (W): Kaylee Harp took seventh with a final time of 2:12.21. Bailey Blake claimed 10th place, crossing the line at 2:12.61. 

Field Events:
Long jump (W): Luisarys Toledo claimed fourth with a final mark of 6.06 meters (19-10.75). Kyah Luhring placed 17th with a final jump of 5.42m (17-09.50). 

Discus (W): Quinn Weakley placed 30th with a final throw of 34.80m (114-02.00). 

Javelin (W): Addison Long placed fifth with a throw of 37.68m (123-07.00)

Anna Gladstone sits 16th in the Heptathlon with  2805 through four events. 


Texas Relays
400H (W): Jaedy Commins placed 12th in the 400M hurdles with a time of 1:02.47. 

Northwest will continue its treks in Texas at the Bobcat Invitational and Texas Relays tomorrow. Running events for the Bobcat Invitational will begin at 9:30 a.m., as field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. For the Texas Relays, field events will start at 9 a.m., as running events are scheduled for 9:35 a.m.
