LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The Northwest Missouri State women's golf team opened play at the SMSU Spring Classic held in Litchfield Park, Arizona at the Wigwam Golf Course.

Paige Hoffman is currently tied for first after an opening round 70 (-2), Hoffman's first round score ties for the fourth best 18-hole score in program history.
Northwest as a squad sits in solo third place after an opening round 311 (+23).
Hoffman tallied 14 pars, three birdies and one bogey enroute to her two under 70, Hoffman's 14 pars was tied for the most in the field in the first round. Hoffman has shot below par four times in her young Bearcat career.
Madilyne Schlaepfer fired an opening round 77 (+5) and is tied for ninth after the first 18-holes of play.
Elly Speece sits tied for ninth alongside Schlaepfer after carding an opening round 77 (+5). Speece and Schlaepfer both tallied three birdies apiece.
Northwest tallied the second most birdies as a team with 11. Northwest also ranks second best against the field on par-3 holes with a scoring average of 3.47 (+14).
