Northwest women's basketball earns 7th NCAA Tournament bid in program history

The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team captured an at-large bid into the 2024 NCAA Div. II Tournament.

The Bearcats will travel to Bethany, Okla., to take part in the Central Region Tournament. Southern Nazarene will serve as the region's top seed and tournament host.

The Bearcats (23-7 overall) will face a familiar foe in its opening round game against the Fort Hays State University Tigers Friday at 12 p.m. Northwest and Fort Hays State met in the MIAA Tournament semifinals on Saturday in Kansas City. FHSU lost in the MIAA tourney title game against Pittsburg State on Sunday.

The Bearcats earned the program's seventh all-time bid into the NCAA Tournament. Northwest also played in the NCAA Tournament in 1984, 1990, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2011. Northwest is 6-6 all-time in NCAA Tournament play.

Fans will have three viewing options: $9.95 per contest, $29.95 for all Division II Women's Basketball Championship games excluding the semifinals and championship game, and $49.95 for all Division II Women's and Men's Basketball Championship games, excluding the semifinals and championship games. The semifinals and finals of the DII Women's Basketball Championship will be carried on CBS Sports Network. The semifinals and finals of the DII Men's Basketball Championship will continue to be carried on CBS Sports Network and CBS, respectively.
