The Northwest Missouri State University softball team will travel to the Mustang Round Up in Wichita Falls, Texas, for five games this weekend.
Northwest (3-2 overall) will take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday at noon. The Bearcats will then matchup with Cameron on Friday at 2:15 p.m.
Saturday's action will feature games against Southwestern Oklahoma State (11 a.m.) and Cameron (1:15 p.m.).
The Bearcats will wrap up play Sunday against tournament host Midwestern State at 10 a.m. Sunday's game will be the only one of the five to feature live stats.
Head coach
Naomi Tellez's squad came out hitting last week and posted a league-best .379 team batting average. Northwest also leads the MIAA in slugging percentage (.571), home runs (7) and RBI (45).
Northwest ranks No. 5 in the nation in hits (61). Only Pittsburg State (64) has more hits among MIAA teams. The Bearcats rank sixth in the country in runs scored (6). Northwest ranks No. 10 in the nation in batting average (.379).
Junior
Lillie Filger hit .619 with 13 hits and scored nine runs as Northwest went 3-2 in Arkansas to open up the season. Filger recorded a hit in each of the five games, including multi-hit games in four of the five. She went 4-for-6 with three RBI at Ouachita Baptist. She posted a 3-for-5 effort Friday at Henderson State. She went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI vs. Arkansas-Monticello. She ended the weekend by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base in an 11-3 win at Henderson State.
Senior
Abby Nolte tied the Bearcat single-game record in RBI with seven at Henderson State. Nolte tied a mark set by Annie Melius (vs. Washburn – April 28, 1987), and Abigail Gilson (vs. Central Missouri – April 27, 2017). She is one of four NCAA Div. II players with seven RBI in a game this season.

Abby Nolte at Henderson State (2/4/24)
Nolte ranks No. 4 in Bearcat history with 31 home runs. Nolte hit a pair of home runs this weekend, including a grand slam at Henderson State (Feb. 4). Nolte has racked up 112 career RBI to rank No. 9 in program history.

Senior
Lauren Gray became the first Bearcat to hit three home runs in a game when she launched three in the season-opening win over Ouachita Baptist. Gray hit two solo homers and a grand slam against the Tigers. Gray posted at least one RBI in all five of the games and leads the Bearcats with 11 RBI. She ranks No. 3 in the country in home runs (3). Gray ranks No. 6 in the nation in RBI (11). She is one of two NCAA Div. II players to have hit three home runs in a game this season, joining Francis Marion's Taylor Watford.

Lillie Filger recorded hits in each of Northwest's first five games this season. Filger ended the 2023 season with an eight-game hitting streak and has extended her hitting streak to 13 in a row overlapping the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

th-most in program history. Dickey ranks No. 2 on Northwest's all-time strikeout list with 373 career punchouts. Dickey also ranks No. 5 in appearances (91) and No. 9 in innings pitched (409 2/3).
