The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., for a four-game set against Henderson State.

Saturday's game against Lane College has been cancelled.
 
The Bearcats (2-2 overall) split a pair of games at Christian Brothers last weekend to open up their season.
 
Northwest hit .292 with 33 runs scored in its opening weekend of action. Northwest scored wins in games two and three of the series by the count of 9-3 and 15-4.
 
The Bearcats were perfect on the base paths by stealing 13 bases in 13 attempts against Christian Brothers. Northwest is tied for No. 8 in the nation with 13 stolen bases. Only three other teams in the nation have stolen more bases without being caught this season (Lander – 20; Catawba – 17; Morehouse – 17).
 
Northwest was hit by 17 pitches by Christian Brothers and leads the nation in hit by pitches. Caden Diel drew four hit by pitches. In Northwest's 15-4 win, the Bearcats were hit by nine pitches. The nine hit batters in a game ranks as the second-highest single-game total in NCAA Div. II baseball this season.
 
Noah Bodenhausen and Caden Diel lead the Bearcats in batting average (.500) through the first series of the season. Bodenhausen went 6-for-12 with six runs scored and two RBI. Diel went 5-for-10 with five runs scored and three RBI.
 
Kaehukai Young belted a pair of homers and hit .357 in 14 at bats. Young is slugging .929 through four games.
 
Trey Morris is batting .438 with seven hits in 16 at bats. Morris is tied for the team-high with six RBI.
 
Cole Slibowski is tied with Morris for the team lead in RBI (6). Slibowski had four hits in 17 at bats in the opening weekend of play.
 
The Bearcat pitching staff put up a 5.74 earned run average. Northwest pitchers struck 26 batters in 31 1/3 innings.
 
Casey Stalzer tallied eight strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings against Christian Brothers. Stalzer was credited with the victory in his first start of the season. It was Stalzer's third start of his two-year Bearcat career.
