BEARCATS ARE KANSAS BOUND; ESU, WASHBURN AWAIT
The No. 12-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team (17-4 overall, 13-2 MIAA) will take its six-game win streak on the road to battle Emporia State (14-9 overall, 7-8) on Wednesday and Washburn (14-7 overall, 10-5 MIAA) on Saturday.

ALL-TIME VS. HORNETS
Northwest holds a 51-26 lead in the all-time series with Emporia State. ESU has won two straight over Northwest at White Auditorium.
    The Bearcats have won three in a row after dropping three straight to the Craig Doty-led Hornets. Ben McCollum is 19-7 vs. the Hornets.

Northwest opened up a two-game lead over Fort Hays State in the MIAA standings in its 64-61 double-overtime triumph in Bearcat Arena.
    Northwest is 13-2 in MIAA games. FHSU is second in the league standings at 11-4. Washburn is third at 10-5. There is a three-way tie for fourth place between Missouri Western, Pittsburg State and Rogers State at 9-6.

MASCARI GETTING HOT FROM DEEP
Junior guard Mitch Mascari has produced double-digit scoring in four of his last six games. He has also drained four three-pointers in four of his last six contests.
    Mascari lit up the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers for 23 points on 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
    Mascari tallied 19 points and four triples against Central Oklahoma. He added 12 points on four threes vs. Newman. Mascari notched 14 points on four three-pointers at Central Missouri.
    Mascari has drained four or more three-pointers in eight contests this season. He has buried at least one triple in 11 consecutive games and has made at least one three-pointer in 18 of 21 contests.
    Mascari ranks No. 3 in the MIAA in three-pointers made (50).

JACKSON IS DOING IT ALL
Junior guard Isaiah Jackson is the only MIAA player with at least 100 rebounds and 90 assists this season.

ISAIAH EYES A STUFFED STAT SHEET
Junior Isaiah Jackson produced a career-high 11 assists in a 105-53 win over Nebraska-Kearney. Jackson has recorded five or more assists in eight games this season.
    Jackson leads the team in assists (92). He ranks second on the squad in rebounds (100), while averaging 7.4 points per game.
    Jackson ranks No. 4 in the MIAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.3). He ranks No. 4 in the MIAA in assists per game (4.8). He has turned the ball over only 43 times.

JACKSON KEY IN TWO HOME WINS
Junior guard Isaiah Jackson averaged nearly a triple-double with 7.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in leading Northwest to a 2-0 week with home wins over Nebraska-Kearney and No. 24-ranked Fort Hays State.
    Jackson dished out a career-high 11 assists vs. Nebraska-Kearney and followed it up with a career-high 12 rebounds against FHSU as he tallied his first career double-double.
    Jackson scored six of his 10 points in overtime to help the Bearcats overcame a 55-51 deficit in the first extra session vs. FHSU. Jacksons' conventional 3-point play tied the game 58-58 with :07.9 left in the first overtime. He scored the game's final point at the free throw line with :14.6 left in the 64-61 victory.
    Jackson has emerged as the league's top defender and it was on display again as he helped Northwest hold UNK to 53 points and FHSU to 61 points (in two overtimes). He held FHSUs Kaleb Hammeke to 11 points (5-of-13 shooting) and only three assists in the 40 minutes Hammeke was on the floor.

FIRST CAREER DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR JACKSON
Isaiah Jackson collected his first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in a 64-61 double-overtime win over No. 24 Fort Hays State.
    Earlier this season, Wes Dreamer captured his ninth career double-double with a 22-point, 13-rebound effort against Emmanuel.

Since the start of MIAA play, junior forward Byron Alexander has found his scoring touch from the field and the free throw line.
    Alexander is shooting 69.2% from the field (27-of-39 FGs) in MIAA play. He is also shooting 78.3% from the charity stripe (18-of-23 FTs). Alexander is averaging 9.0 points per game through eight MIAA contests.

DREAMER'S 30-POINT HALF
Senior Wes Dreamer was simply unstoppable in his 30-point first-half performance against Clarke University (Dec. 30).
    Dreamer played 16 minutes and shot 11-of-16 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. Dreamer sank 6-of-7 at the charity stripe as he collected his third career 30-point scoring game.
    Dreamer's 30-point half was the most first-half points scored by a Bearcat since Justin Pitts put up 30 points in the first 20 minutes vs. Northeastern State (Nov. 30, 2017). Pitts buried 9-of-11 three-pointers in the first half against the RiverHawks en route to a 35-point night.

'CATS NET SEASON-HIGHS VS CLARKE
Northwest set a few season highs in its 100-44 holiday tuneup win over Clarke in Bearcat Arena.
    Northwest buried 37 field goals, 12 three-pointers and shot 60.7% from the floor. Northwest grabbed 42 rebounds and dished out 23 assists vs. the Pride.
    The Bearcats reached the 100-point mark for the first time since a 101-63  victory over Missouri Western (Dec. 18, 2021).
    Northwest's 37 made field goals was the most for the program since making 38 vs. Emporia State on March 3, 2021, in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament in Bearcat Arena.

Northwest was held to 14 made field goals in its 57-49 loss at Fort Hays State. It marked the fewest field goals made by Northwest in the 15 years under the direction of head coach Ben McCollum.
