Northwest Missouri State University head football coach
John McMenamin has announced the addition of two new assistant coaches and the retention of four others for his 2025 coaching staff.
Collin Prosser – Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line
Prosser joins the Bearcats after serving three seasons as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Wayne State College. Prosser also worked five seasons at Minnesota State where he served as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for two seasons and offensive line coach for three years. Prosser spent two seasons at the University of South Dakota where he coached special teams, offensive line and defensive line. Prosser coached four seasons at Morningside College following work as a graduate assistant coach at South Dakota. Prosser played at Wayne State from 2005 to 2008 where he helped the Wildcats to a berth into the NCAA Div. II playoffs in 2008 as a team captain.
"Coach Prosser is a masterful technician who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to developing student-athletes," McMenamin said. "His extensive experience in leading some of the nation's top offenses will be an invaluable asset to the Bearcats."
Jake Willrich – Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs
Willrich served as an assistant coach at Wayne State College in 2024. The Wildcats ranked No. 3 in the country in net punting (41.94 yards/punt) and No. 6 in the nation in kick return coverage (14.53 yards/kick return). "Coach Willrich brings extensive experience coaching special teams and the secondary in the MIAA, consistently producing some of the nation's top-performing units," McMenamin said. "With 18 years of experience coaching defensive backs, his ability to connect with student-athletes sets him apart as one of the best in the field."

With experience coaching and winning multiple national championships, he knows exactly what it takes to shape a championship-caliber defense. He leads with the same unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence that defined his playing career here."
Ryan Gent – Recruiting Coordinator/Wide Receivers
Gent will serve as the recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Bearcats. Northwest wide receiver
Luke Mathews led the MIAA in yards per catch (19.13) in 2024 and earned second-team all-MIAA honors. "Coach Gent epitomizes mastery of his craft, consistently developing some of the nation's top wide receivers," McMenamin said. "His exceptional ability to communicate and bring out the best in his players is evident every time you watch his group in action. With a wealth of experience, he will play a key role in shaping our game plans each week."
Roberto Davis – Defensive Line
Davis will move to defensive line coach after serving as the running backs coach at Northwest since 2021. Davis coached a trio of first-team all-MIAA running backs in Al McKeller (2021), Jamar Moya (2022) and
Jay Harris (2023). It will mark the second tenure under head coach
John McMenamin for Davis as he joined the Wayne State staff in 2020. Davis was a graduate assistant coach at Northwest in 2019 a year that saw the Bearcats win the MIAA title and reach the NCAA Div.
