'CATS TO MAKE RARE ROAD TRIP FOR NON-CONF GAMES
The Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball squad (2-6 overall) will play its first true road game in non-conference regular season play since the 2016-17 season.
    Northwest will play a pair of road games at Northwest Nazarene (Saturday, 8 p.m. CT) and at Central Washington (Monday, 9 p.m. CT).
    Northwest Nazarene is 6-1 on the season, while Central Washington is 6-3 overall.

LAST TRUE ROAD GAME IN REGULAR SEASON
Northwest's last true road game in the regular season came when the Bearcats scored a 66-64 win at Metro State in Denver, Colo., on Nov. 20, 2016.

ALL-TIME VS. NORTHWEST NAZARENE
This is the first meeting between Northwest Missouri State and Northwest Nazarene in men's basketball.

ALL-TIME VS. CENTRAL WASHINGTON
Northwest holds a 2-0 edge in the all-time series with Central Washington. The Bearcats won matchups with the Wildcats in 2003 and 1915.

BEARCATS SNAP FOUR-GAME SKID WITH WIN AT ESU
The Bearcats snapped its first four-game losing skid since the 2010-11 season with a 65-54 road victory over the Emporia State Hornets.
    Northwest buried 13 three-pointers and Emorie Knox led the way with 29 points. Knox scored 24 of his season-high 29 points in the second half against the Hornets.

SCORING SUPERLATIVES
Senior Emorie Knox recorded his second 20-point scoring game of the season with a 29-point output at Emporia State. He also tallied 22 points vs. Concordia, St. Paul in Fayette, Iowa.
    Knox has scored 10 or more points five times this season. Knox has put up 30 career double-figure scoring games at Charleston Southern (7), Ouachita Baptist (18) and Northwest (5).
    Senior Luke Moustakas gained his 11th career double-figure scoring game with a 13-point performance at Emporia State.
    Freshman Marcus Glock secured a career-high 15 points on the strength of 3-of-3 shooting from three-point range against Missouri Western. It's the second double-figure scoring game of the season for the freshman from Wahoo, Neb.

KNOX LEADS THE WAY
Senior guard Emorie Knox tops the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game.
    Knox dropped in a season-high 29 points against Emporia State. Knox tallied 24 of his 29 points in the second half and he connected on all five of his second-half three-point attempts.
    Altogether, Knox drained six three-pointers in the 65-54 win at Emporia State.
    The 29-point performance from Knox is the highest scoring game this season by an individual in an MIAA contest.

SECURING FREE THROW MAKES LIKE IT'S FORT KNOX
Emorie Knox has sank 20-of-21 free throws (95.2%) this season. Knox  leads the MIAA and ranks tied for No. 11 in the nation in highest free throw percentage.

RATIGAN SWATTING SHOTS
Jack Ratigan ranks tied for No. 3 in the MIAA in blocked shots per game (1.38). Ratigan has swatted 11 shots this season. He has blocked at least one shot in seven of the first eight games this season.
    Ratigan also tops the Bearcats in rebounds per game (6.4). Ratigan ranks No. 7 in the MIAA in rebounds per contest.
    Ratigan tallied a career-high 18 points in a 70-66 loss to Missouri Western. Ratigan buried 8-of-10 shots from the field against the Griffons.

MOOSE DIALED IN FROM DEEP
Luke Moustakas leads the squad in three-pointers made (19). Moustakas ranks second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg).
    Moustakas poured in a career-high 21 points and sank five three-pointers in Northwest's 74-57 victory over Chadron State.
    Moustakas has made at least one three-pointer in all eight games this season.
    He ranks No. 6 in the MIAA in three-pointers made per game (2.4) and ranks No. 8 in the league in three-point field goals made (17).

Spencer Schomers ranks third on the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game through eight contests. He ranks third on the team with 14 made three-pointers.
    Schomers put up a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting against Chadron State.

LORD BYRON RETURNS
Senior forward Byron Alexander returned to action against Missouri Western having missed the previous five games.
    Alexander has played in 131 career games (30 starts) and has scored 733 points as a Bearcat. He has recorded 397 rebounds and has tallied 85 steals.
    Alexander is the active NCAA Div. II leader in games played (131).
    Alexander ranks No. 8 in field goal percentage (.617) on the NCAA Div. II active career list.

Northwest is holding the opposition to 27.1% made shots from three-point land, which ranks second in the MIAA. Northwest ranks No. 11 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense.
    Bearcat opponents have made 48-of-177 shots from three-point range through eight games.

NOT MANY WHISTLES
Northwest leads the MIAA in fewest fouls called against them this season. Northwest is being whistled for 13.6 fouls per game, which ranks No. 15 in the country.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE IN BEARCAT ARENA
Since the start of the 2011-12 season, Northwest has compiled a home mark of 176-15, including a tally of 120-11 in MIAA play.

1ST 20-POINT LOSS SINCE 2010
For the first time in 153 games, Northwest lost a game by 20 points or more in a 72-50 setback vs. Augustana to begin the 2024-25 season.
    The last time the Bearcats lost a game by 20 points or more came Jan. 20, 2010, when Missouri Southern posted an 88-63 win in Joplin, Mo.
    Northwest had won 153 consecutive games when the final scoring margin is 20 or more points.
10 STRAIGHT 25-WIN SEASONS
Northwest is the only NCAA men's basketball program to have won 25 or more games in each of the last 10 seasons.
    Northwest is averaging 30.5 wins per season over the last 10 years. In its last 10 seasons, Northwest is 305-34 overall and 184-21 in MIAA action.
    Houston and Drake hold the NCAA Div. I active streak with four consecutive 25-plus win seasons.

13 STRAIGHT 20-WIN SEASON
Northwest has won 20 or more games in 13 consecutive seasons.
    It is the longest active 20-win season streak among NCAA Division II programs.
    The University of Kansas holds the longest active streak among NCAA Div. I teams at 35 win a row. Gonzaga University has an active streak of 27 consecutive 20-win seasons.
    Ben McCollum's 13 20-win seasons are the most among Northwest men's basketball coaches. McCollum surpassed Steve Tappmeyer, who held the previous mark of 10 20-win seasons on the Bearcat sidelines.
