Five Bearcats claim All-MIAA soccer honors, Arnau earns First Team recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five members of the Northwest Missouri State women's soccer team have received All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors for the 2024 regular season.
 
Head Coach Marc Gordon's squad includes one First-Team All-MIAA honoree, Ximena Arnau, while Ekaterina Theoharidis earned a spot on the All-MIAA Second Team. Additionally, Makenna West, Moira Franck, and goalkeeper Lily Ellis received honorable mention accolades. 
 
Ximena Arnau – First-Team All-MIAA
Sophomore midfielder Ximena Arnau (Kansas City, Mo.) led the way as a First-Team All-MIAA selection. Arnau tallied six goals and 14 points this season, tying for the team lead with two game-winning goals. She was also named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17 after scoring twice against Southwest Baptist and once against then-No. 2 Grand Valley State. Arnau is the 12th Bearcat in program history to earn First-Team All-MIAA honors.

Ekaterina Theoharidis – Second-Team All-MIAA
Sophomore forward Ekaterina Theoharidis (Liberty, Mo.) earned Second-Team honors with a team-high eight goals, tying for sixth in Northwest's single-season goal record. Theoharidis also leads the Bearcats with 20 points, 51 shots, 34 shots on goal, and four assists. She recorded her first multi-goal game in a 2-0 victory over Rogers State on Oct. 13.
 
Makenna West – Honorable Mention All-MIAA  
Sophomore midfielder Makenna West (Bondurant, Iowa) received honorable mention honors, with her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 win over Northeastern State. West ended the season with three goals, four assists, and 38 shots (16 on target).
 
Moira Franck – Honorable Mention All-MIAA  
Junior center back Moira Franck (Monument, Colo.), a two-time All-MIAA honoree, played a key role in the Bearcat defense, contributing to six shutouts during the regular season. Franck has registered nine shots (four on-goal) and provided one assists. 
 
Lily Ellis – Honorable Mention All-MIAA  
Junior goalkeeper Lily Ellis (Kearney, Mo.), a two-time MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week in 2024, earned an honorable mention with 106 saves, six shutouts, and a season record of 5-5-6. Ellis, ranked fourth in career saves for Northwest with 264, was a First-Team All-MIAA selection in 2022 and Third Team pick in 2023.
