MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University football team overcame rainy conditions Saturday at Bearcat Stadium to secure a 44-26 non-conference victory over the Northeastern State University RiverHawks.
Northwest moved to 5-4 on the season and dropped NSU to 2-7 overall.
The Bearcats produced seven sacks and held the RiverHawks to 55 yards rushing. Northwest's offense generated 188 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The Bearcat special teams accounted for a punt return touchdown and scored a safety on another NSU punt to tally 10 points.Â
Jadon Brady scored a pair of rushing touchdowns from 27 yards and one yard, while
Chris Ruhnke tossed a trio of touchdowns passes to three different receivers (
Tyce Hoover,
John Giagiari and
Eric Richardson).
Jake Fisher tallied seven tackles, three quarterback sacks and 4.5 tackles-for-loss.
Clayton Power notched eight tackles, 4.0 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks in the win.Â

Dominic Myers accounted for 169 all-purpose yards. He returned four punts for 119 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown. He also returned two kickoffs for 50 yards. The 119 punt return yards ranks No. 3 in Bearcat history for a single game. Jamaica Rector has 124 punt return yards vs. Missouri Southern (Oct. 12, 2002) and Jason Melnick had 120 punt return yards vs. Southwest Baptist (Sept. 21, 1996).
