MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team surged up the leaderboard to claim runner-up on the final day of the Midwest Fall Golf Classic, held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
 
After starting in fifth following the first round, the Bearcats climbed three spots to finish with a team score of 635 (+59), securing its third, runner-up finish this season. 
 
Paige Hoffman led the way for Northwest, earning an individual runner-up finish. Hoffman shot a 75 (+3) in the final round, bringing her two-round total to 151 (+7). She was consistent throughout the front nine, parring every hole and adding a birdie on No. 17. Not far behind, Madilyne Schlaepfer finished third overall, carding a second-round score of 77 (+5) for a total of 152 (+8) with birdies on holes No. 3 and No. 7.
 
This marks Hoffman's third consecutive top three finish this season, while Schlaepfer secured her second top three finish of the year. Hoffman has produced 21 career top-10 finishes.
 
Lexi Bartley made a significant move up the standings, jumping 23 spots with a second-round score of 77 (+5), finishing tied for 16th place with an overall total of 161 (+17). Bartley had five birdies on the day, which included opening her round with three consecutive birdies.

This marks the last golf outing of the fall season, as Northwest will gear up for the spring season to continue its 2024-25 campaign.
