NORTHWEST AT NORTHEASTERN STATE
Northeastern State leads the all-time series record 10-7 with the latest match up coming on Feb. 2, 2023 ending in a 68-46 Bearcat win. Northwest has won three straight match ups against the RiverHawks.
SCOUTING THE RIVERHAWKS
Northeastern State comes into Thursday's match up 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA. The Riverhawks last regular season game against Washburn ended in an loss, 75-56. Northeastern State played in a holiday tune-up game on Dec. 30th against Ecclesia in which the RiverHawks came up on top 102-26.
Northeastern State has two scorers averaging double-figures on the season:

Courtney Lee - 11.1 PPG
RiverHawks rank sixth in the MIAA in scoring defense, holding opposing teams to an average of 61.3 PPG. On the offensive side, Northeastern State ranks third in three point field goals with 71 total (35.1 percent).
NORTHWEST AT ROGERS STATE
Northwest has yet to get beat by Rogers State. Rogers State has fallen to Northwest seven straight times since joining the MIAA in 2019. Last match up came on Feb. 9, 2023 ending in a 61-50 victory for the Bearcats.
SCOUTING THE HILLCATS
Rogers State comes in at 6-5 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA before a match up against Missouri Western on Thursday. The Hillcats beat Northeastern State 58-44 in Claremore on Dec. 13.
Senior Forward Alayzha Knapp is the only Hillcat averaging double figures on the season (15.8 PPG).
Rogers State ranks third in the MIAA in three-point field goals made per game, knocking down 7.2 per contest. The Hillcats seem to rely on their defense as they rank fourth in the MIAA in blocked shots (3.73 per game) and third in steals (10.45 per game).

SEASON STATISTICS
Northwest has gotten to the free throw line quite often so far this season, which has contributed to its success at this point in the season. The Bearcats rank second in the MIAA in free throw percentage (77.2).
Molly Hartnett ranks second in the MIAA at the charity stripe, converting on 90.2 percent of her free throws.
Jayna Green continues to be a dominant force in the paint with 1.69 blocks per contest which ranks third in the MIAA, 27th in the nation. As a team, Northwest ranks fourth in the MIAA piling up 3.8 blocks per game, ranking them 53rd in all of Div. II.
Kelsey Fields in nearing the double figure mark on the season (9.1 PPG) while pulling down seven rebounds per contest. Fields also leads the team in offensive rebounds with 38 on the season.

PETTLON SEEING ACTION IN KWU EXHIBITION GAME
Freshman
Anastyn Pettlon is currently red-shirting for the Bearcats this season, but saw a little action against Kansas Wesleyan. Pettlon came up with a rebound and two steals in the late minutes of the 90-34 win over the Coyotes.

The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team (10-2 overall. 4-2 MIAA) has secured its 10th win before the month of January for the first time since the 1983-84 season. The 'Cats will look continue in the win column with match ups with conference foes this week.
