TOPEKA, Kan. - The No. 15-ranked Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team recorded a 3-0 sweep of Midwestern State in its second match of the day at the Washburn Invitational.
Northwest won by set scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-20. Northwest is 4-2 on the season, while Midwestern State is 2-4 overall.
Olivia Dir tacked on a team-high 14 kills to go along with 15 digs for a double-double.
Natalie Laiolo was credited with 35 assists and 12 digs for a double-double.Â
Avery Kemp posted her fourth consecutive double-digit kill match with 12 kills.
Northwest hit .227 for the match, which included a .314 attack effort in the first set. Midwestern State was held to .133 hitting. Northwest had 42 kills to 34 for Midwestern State. Northwest limited its attack errors to 13 in the match - its lowest total since 11 in the season-opener against Kentucky Wesleyan.
Northwest will return to the court Saturday with two matches against Christian Brothers (8 a.m.) and Oklahoma Baptist (Noon).
