LINCOLN, Neb. - The Northwest Missouri State University men's cross country team placed second in the gold division, while the Bearcat women placed fourth at the 2023 Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite.

Sophomore Drew Atkins set a new school record in the 8,000-meters with his third-place finish in a time of 23:45.7. Nate Mueller tallied the second-best time in school history with a clocking of 23:54 as he finished fourth overall in Saturday's race. Jhordan Ccope held the previous best in school history at 23:57.1, a mark he set in the 2019 season.

On the women's side, junior Taylor McCreedy led the Bearcats with an eighth-place finish in a time of 18:02.6. McCreedy's time ranks as the 11th-best in program history. Junior Alyna Thibault gained a top-10 finish with a clocking of 18:07.0.
