Bearcats produce impressive marks on day two of the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

The Northwest Missouri State track and field teams combined to capture three conference titles on day two of the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Jefferson City, Mo.

Reece Smith took first place overall in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase for the third consecutive year as he earned a time of 8:55.19. Jake Norris finished fourth overall as he clocked in at 9:11.87, and Carson Lauterbach finished 12th with a time of 9:50.55.

Caroline Cunningham earned a first place finish in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase as she crossed the finish line in 10:28.69 which is a new personal best and meet record. Whitney Post finished fourth with a time of 11:17.56.

Luisarys Toledo won the women's long jump with a leap of 6.06m.
 
Anna Gladstone finished fifth overall in the women's heptathlon with 4723 points. Gladstone finished the final three events of the heptathlon as she earned fifth in the long jump (16' 10.75"), third in the javelin throw (109' 9"), and seventh in the 200 meter dash (2:32.46).
 
Shelby Butterfield also finished the final three events of the heptathlon as finished seventh overall in the women's heptathlon with 4354 points. Butterfield recorded a sixth place finish in the long jump (16' 10"), fourth in the javelin throw (109' 4"), and fifth in the 800 meter run (2:26.84).

In the men's 10,000 meter run Drew Atkins finished fourth overall with a time of 31:18.83 and Dillon Grover finished 11th with a time of 32:15.10.
 
Amber Owens finished third overall in the women's 10,000 meter run as she earned a time of 37:09.88.
 
In the women's 100 meter hurdles, both Ally Hammond and Sarah Prickett qualified for the finals. Hammond had a time of 14.15 which is a personal best, and Prickett had a time of 14.25.
 
The Bearcat men had three qualifiers in the 400 meter dash. Prince Griffin crossed the finish in 47.03, R.J. Williams came in at 47.26, and Truman Hare came in at 47.46.
 
Northwest had the four fastest qualifying times in the women's 400 meter dash. Chloe Saenz had the top time at 54.45, Tiffany Hughey was second (54.60), Luisarys Toledo was third (54.75), and Kennedi Cline was fourth (55.54). Saenz had a personal best in the event.
 
Joel Dos Santos qualified for the finals of the men's 100 meter dash as he clocked in at 10.43.
 
In the women's 100 meter dash, Ally Hammond set a new school record with a qualifying tie of 11.63.
 
Riley Witt qualified for the men's 800 meter run as he recorded a new personal best time of 1:51.76.
 
The Bearcats had three women qualify for the finals of the 800 meter run. Bailey Blake had the top time at 2:11.76, Kaylee Harp had the second fastest time at 2:13.20, and Lydia McGlocklin had the seventh fastest time at 2:14.42.
 
In the women's 400 meter hurdles, Olivia Sattlefield qualified with the fourth best time at 1:01.39, and Jaedy Commins qualified with the sixth fastest time at 1:01.52.
 
Joel Dos Santos qualified for the finals of the men's 200 meter dash with the fifth fastest time as he clocked in at 21.11.
 
In the women's 200 meter dash the Bearcats had three runners qualify for the finals. Kennedi Cline recorded a time of 24.01, Luisarys Toledo had a time of 24.12, and Tiffany Hughey had a time of 24.22. Hughey had a persona best in the 200.
