Northwest Missouri State University sophomore
Paige Hoffman will compete for the NCAA Division II women's golf national championship beginning Tuesday in Eureka, Mo., at Fox Run Golf Club.
The 2023 NCAA Div. II Women's Golf Championship is set for a 54-hole stroke play individual championship as well as a match play team event following the 54-hole event. The 54-hole individual tournament will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each round is set to get underway at 8 a.m. each day. The top three teams in the central region, top six teams in the east region, top five teams in the south region and the top four teams in the west region, along with the top two individuals not with a team have advanced to the championships for a total of 98 participants.
Hoffman's Tuesday tee time is set for 10:50 a.m. on hole No. 1. Her Wednesday tee time is set for 1 p.m. on hole No. 1. Her Thursday tee time will either be at 8 a.m., 8:10 a.m. or 8:20 a.m., depending upon the standings entering Thursday's final round.
Hoffman (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley HS/Univ. of South Dakota) earned a spot as one of two individual qualifiers from the NCAA Central Region. Hoffman tied for third at the 2023 Central Region Tournament with round scores of 68-73-75 for a three-round total of 216. She shot a collegiate-best and a school-record score of 68 in the opening round as she held a four-shot lead on the field.
Hoffman has played in 12 events and has logged 11 top-10 finishes. Her only event outside the top 10 came when she finished in a tie for 11th at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invite on March 6-7 at the Lincoln Park Golf Course (East) in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She has logged 27 rounds in the 2022-23 season with a 75.22 stroke average. She has scored 23 of her 27 rounds in the 70s along with a season-low round of 68 at the Central Region. In all, she has shot only three rounds in the 80s (82, 80, 81).
Morgan Thiele holds the top three season-stroke averages in school history with a trio of seasons averaging less than 80.00 per round. Thiele shot a school-record best 78.79 in the 2019-20 season, along with a 78.85 stroke average in 2018-19 and a 79.52 stroke average in 2021-22. Hoffman is set to shatter those marks when her season is completed at the NCAA Championship meet.
Hoffman has tallied 62 total birdies and two eagles this season. She totaled eight birdies and an eagle at the Central Region meet.
Hoffman gained first-team all-MIAA honors and captured the MIAA individual championship this spring. She was the fourth Northwest women's golfer to compete in an NCAA regional competition.
Hoffman said she has played on the course previously when the Iowa Jr. PGA played a match-play event at Fox Run Golf Club in 2014.
