MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University softball team had a series sweep over the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Senior Day.

The Bearcats improved to 28-24 overall and 11-15 in MIAA play.

Lincoln dropped to 7-41 overall and 2-24 in league action.

GAME ONE
The Bearcats earned a five-inning win over Lincoln in game one of the doubleheader with a final score of 12-0.

In the first inning,
Abby Nolte hit an RBI single that scored
Avery Anderson to put Northwest up 1-0.
Â
In the second, Anderson stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and drilled a homer over the right center fence for a Bearcat grand slam. Nolte then hit another RBI single which allowed
Olivia Daugherty to score which put the 'Cats up 6-0.

Skylar Pieper smashed a solo shot to right center in the bottom of the third. Northwest continued to rack up runs later in the third as
Lillie Filger hit an RBI single to score
Lauren Gray. Two batters later with runners on first and third, Daugherty hit the third Bearcat home run of the day which brought the score to 11-0.

Madison Friest tallied the final run of the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth.

Northwest was victorious in game one with a final score of 12-0.

The Bearcats outhit Lincoln by eight. Northwest was led in hits by
Lillie Filger who went 3-for-4 at the plate and
Abby Nolte was 3-for-3.

Jadyn Streigle pitched all five innings to secure her 13
th win of the season.

GAME TWO
Northwest posted two first inning runs off a
Skylar Pieper triple which brought home
Olivia Daugherty and
Avery Anderson.
Â
In the second inning,
Madison Friest hit a homer over the right field fence to give Northwest a 3-0 lead. Later in the inning with the bases loaded,
Avery Anderson hit a double against the center field fence that allowed
Brylee Kemper and
Lela Bryant to score.

After two innings, the 'Cats led Lincoln 6-0.
Â
Lincoln managed to score one run in the fifth and tally another one in the seventh to bring the final score to 6-2.
Â
Northwest had three more hits than the Blue Tigers in the game two victory. The trio of
Madison Friest,
Avery Anderson and
Lillie Filger all had two hits.

Breck Dickey got the pitching win going six innings, striking out 12 batters, and allowing two runs on four hits.
