Northwest track and field has strong outing at the Midwest Classic in Emporia, Kan/

EMPORIA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field team had a successful day competing at the Midwest Classic in Emporia, Kan.
 
The Bearcat women finished fifth as a team and the men finished ninth overall.
 
Amber Owens took first place in the women's 10,000 meter run as she clocked in at 37:26.77.
 
Lexie Gilbert earned a first place finish in the women's 100 meter dash as she ran the race in 12.34.
 
Dakota Schmidt placed second in the men's javelin throw with an NCAA Division II Provo distance of 210-10 (64.28m).
 
Kemuel Sloan finished second in the men's triple jump with a distance of 46-08.75 (14.24m).
 
Blake Morgan earned third in the men's high jump as he cleared a mark of 6-08 (2.03m). Jonathan Carter finished fifth in the event with a mark of 6-04.25 (1.94m).
 
In the women's javelin throw Journey Lyons took second with a throw of 131-07 (40.11m) and Addison Long took third with a throw of 131-05 (40.06m).
 
Whitney Post placed third in the women's 1500 meter run as she finished the run in 4:43.58.
 
Anna Gladstone earned a fourth place in the women's long jump with a mark of 17' 2.75" (5.25m).
 
Lexie Gilbert finished fifth in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 25.20.
 
Hannah Hatzenbuehler and Anna Gladstone finished fifth and sixth respectively in the women's 100 meter hurdles. Hatzenbuehler recorded a time of 14.86 and Goldstone recorded a time of 14.91.
 
Haley Luna finished sixth in the women's 400 meter dash as she ran a time of 58.50.
 
Danny Jantzen placed eighth in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 49.12.
 
Zac Anderson finished eighth in the men's 100 meter dash clocking in at 10.92.
 
In the women's discus throw Quinn Weakley placed eighth with a throw of 125-04 (38.22m) and Kaitlin Peek placed 10th with a throw of 124-04 (37.90m).
 
In the women's 800 meter run Lydia McGlocklin placed 10th (2:17.54) and Alyna Thibault placed 13th (2:18.66).
 
David Hipshire finished 10th in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 155-11 (47.53m).
 
In the men's discus throw Antonio Perez finished 10th (146-04, 44.61m), K.J. Smith finished 12th (140-06, 42.84m), and David Hipshire finished 14th (138-11, 42.35m).
 
In the men's 400 hurdles Corbin Smith took 12th (56.72) and Vashon Riggins took 14th (58.22).
 
Yemane Kifle finished 14th in the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.61.
 
Kaitlin Peek placed 15th in the women's hammer throw with a distance of 147-09 (45.05m).
