Northwest track and field wraps up weekend competition with a handful of new school records

The Northwest Missouri State University track and field team wrapped up weekend competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Cali., and the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.
 
For the third consecutive day, the track and field team broke school records at the meets.
 
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL – Azusa, Cali
The Northwest women's 4x400 meter relay team blew away the previous school record by taking first with a time of 3:35.51. The Bearcats had another team running in the event and that group finished seventh overall clocking in at 3:44.17.
 
The men's 4x100 relay team took second overall while breaking the school record with a time of 40.34.
 
Luisarys Toledo finished fifth in the women's long jump with a jump of 20' 1" (6.12m) which marks a new school record in the event.
 
The women's 4x100 relay team finished fifth overall with a time of 46.08. This is the second fastest time in school history.
 
Reece Smith finished first in the men's 1500 meter run as he earned a time of 13:50.79.
 
Dakota Schmidt placed fifth in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 193' 10" (59.09m).
 
Blake Morgan finished eighth in the men's high jump as he cleared a mark of 6' 7.50" (2.02m).
 
Enrico Cavgana recorded a ninth place finish in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 21.20.
 
Prince Griffin finished 11th in the men's 400 meter dash clocking in at 47.41. Federico Crisci finished 37th with a time of 48.77.
 
The Bearcats had a pair of top ten finishers in the women's 400 meter dash with Tiffany Hughey placing fifth in 53.85 which ties the third fastest time in school history, and Kennedi Cline placing eighth in 54.05 which is the fourth fastest time in school history. Chloe Saenz finished 18th with a time of 54.86.
 
Joel Dos Santos earned a seventh place finish in the men's 100 meter dash clocking in at 10.49. Enrico Cavagna finished 23rd in the event as he crossed the finish line in 10.68 and Dominic Sedlacek finished 28th with a time of 10.73.
 
In the women's 100 meter hurdles, Ally Hammond finished 24th as she recorded a time of 14.46. Sarah Prickett finished 32nd in the event clocking in at 14.62.
 
Danny Jantzen finished 10th in the men's 400 meter hurdles as he ran the race in 53.01 which is a personal best and the seventh fastest time in school history.
 
In the women's 400 hurdles Jaedy Commins earned a 13th place finish with a time of 1:00.82 (personal best), and Olivia Sattlefield earned a 15th place finish with a time of 1:01.06.
 
KANSAS RELAYS – Lawrence, Kan.
Whitney Post finished fifth in the women's 1500 meter run as she crossed the finish line in 4:45.81, and Alyna Thibault came in ninth with a time of 4:51.79.
 
David Hipshire placed fifth in the men's shot put as he marked a distance of 50' 7.25" (15.42m).
 
In the women's discus throw Kaitlin Peek finished 11th with a throw of 120-2 (36.63m), Quinn Weakley finished 12th with a throw of 119-4 (36.39m), and Kendall Crowley finished 14th with a throw of 105-3 (32.09m).
