MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 14-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team continued its winning ways with a 7-0 sweep of the visiting Newman University Jets Saturday afternoon on the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Tennis Complex.
The Bearcat women's team extended its win streak to seven straight duals and moved to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in MIAA dual matches. Northwest has won 10 of its last 11 matches since the start of March.
Northwest took care of business in doubles action by winning all three matches to take a 1-0 lead. Northwest has won the doubles point in 12 of its 13 dual victories this season.

Vera Alenicheva posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Newman's Dana Issayayeva at No. 1 singles.
A pair of Bearcats extended long win streaks on Saturday. Angela Per Moreno won her 11th straight singles match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Newman's Nicole Bono at No. 4 singles.
Carolina Lima De Oliveira captured her ninth straight singles win with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Newman's Divya Murali at No. 5 singles.
Northwest is set for action again Tuesday against Emporia State at 2 p.m.
