OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team finished in the 11th place in its opening tournament of the spring in Oklahoma City at The Diffee Ford Lincoln Invite. The Bearcats were led by sophomore
Paige Hoffman.
Hoffman finished tied for 11th after a second round 72 (+1).
Hoffman continued the strong play she showed in the fall season with her finish this week in Oklahoma City. The Sophomore from Des Moines tallied five birdies on her card shooting a one over 72 in round two, tallying a two day total of 147 (+5) which is the fourth best 36-hole score in program history. Hoffman led the field with 10 total birdies, five in round one and five in round two.
Kylie Carey finished tied for 55th after a second round 80 (+9) and a two-day total of 162. Carey tied for the third best scoring average on par-3 holes with an average of 3.00 (E).
Elly Speece carded a two-round total of 163 (+21) after a second round 80, Speece finished tied for 58th.
Lauren Wood finished tied for 63rd after firing a second round 81 (+10).
Northwest as a team finished in 11th place with a two-day total of 636 (+68), in round two the Bearcats shot 313 (+29) which is ten shots better than yesterday's first round team score.Â
