MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State baseball team won game three of the series against Missouri Southern, 6-4.

The Bearcats improve to 3-14 overall and 1-5 in MIAA action.Â

Northwest got off to an early 1-0 lead as
Ryan Koski scored from third on a passed ball in the bottom of the second.
Â
Missouri Southern responded in the top of the third with a stolen base to home plate. The Lions posted one more run in the fourth with a single to left field that scored one run to give them their first lead of the day at 2-1.

The Bearcats tied it up again in the fifth inning with a sacrifice bunt from
Cole Slibowski that scored
Layne Shiers and evened the game at 2-2 heading into the sixth.

Northwest had a solid sixth inning scoring two more runs.
Caden Opfer scored from a Koski double down the left field line, and three batters later Koski then came home when
Alex Bowers singled up the middle.

Southern tied it back up at 4-4 with a two-run home run over the left field fence.

In the bottom of the eighth, Koski hit a solo homer over the left field fence to put the 'Cats back on top, 5-4. Later in the inning
Noah Bodenhausen scored on a balk to give Northwest a two-run lead.

The Lions were held scoreless in the ninth to give the Bearcats a 6-4 victory.

Jacob Gajic got the win on the mound going 3.0 innings getting three strikeouts and only giving up two hits.
