PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team was dealt a 4-1 loss behind some quiet offense in the series finale with the Pittsburg State Gorillas.

Northwest falls to 4-16, 2-7 in MIAA play and Pittsburg State moves to 14-7, 6-3 in MIAA play.

Pittsburg State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning via an error and an RBI triple off Bearcat starter
Alex Slocum.

Northwest tallied six hits and one run on the afternoon,
Alex Bowers had the lone RBI for the Bearcats in the fifth inning driving in
Ryan Williams with a single to right center.

Northwest loaded the bases with one out in the ninth but couldn't get anything across. The Bearcats stranded 10 on base on the afternoon.

Alex Slocum was tagged with the loss moving his record to 0-3.
Northwest is now 0-8 on the season when scoring less than two runs.
Northwest is back in action Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. at home vs. Washburn.
