Bearcats host Friday Night Lights - Last Chance Meet in Hughes Fieldhouse

The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field team will host its final indoor meet of the season before the conference championships get underway. The Friday Night Lights – Last Chance Meet will take place Friday, Feb. 17, inside Hughes Fieldhouse.
 
Both running and field events will begin at 7:30 p.m. Spectators can enter any time after 5:30 p.m. and are asked to enter through the upper East doors.
 
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS – NORTHWEST WOMEN
The Bearcat women have produced 26 NCAA provisional qualifying times/marks this season.
 
60 Meters
Ally Hammond came in with a time of 7.49 at the Ichabod Invitational. Lexie Gilbert posted a time of 7.64 at the Bearcat Invite as well.
60 Hurdles
Ally Hammond crossed the finish in 8.61 at the Ichabod Invitational. Sarah Prickett earned a time of 8.81 at the Bearcat Invite.
200 Meters
Tiffany Hughey is T-No. 5 in the nation in the 200-meter dash (24.20) and is No. 2 in school history. Luisarys Toledo recorded a time of 24.44 in the event which puts her at No. 3 in Northwest history. Both Hughey and Toledo earned these times at the Northwest Open. Kennedi Cline finished with a time of 24.88 at the Graduate Classic and is the sixth best finish in school history.
400 Meters
Tiffany Hughey ranks No. 1 in Northwest history in the 400-meter dash (53.82) and Luisarys Toledo ranks third in school history (54.70). Chloe Saenz earned a Div. II provo time at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge with a time of 55.10 and it puts her at No. 4 in school history. Kennedi Cline finished with a time of 55.19 at the Bearcat Invite and holds the No. 4 spot in the Northwest record books.
800 Meters
Kaylee Harp earned a time of 2:09.43 at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge and that marks a new school record in the event. Luisarys Toledo posted a time of 2:09.80 at the Bearcat Invite which is No. 2 in school history. Two other Bearcats have earned NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying marks in the event this season. Lydia McGlocklin crossed the finish with a time of 2:11.92 (5th best in school history), and Bailey Blake crossed the finish in 2:13.00.
Mile
Caroline Cunningham beat her own school record in the women's mile run at the 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic with a time of 4:49.58.
3000 Meters
Earning a time of 9:54.34 at the Northwest Open, Caroline Cunningham beat her own school record which she set in February of 2022.
5000 Meters
Caroline Cunningham set a new school record at Northwest in the event as she crossed the finish in 16:52.48.
4x400 Relay
At the Bearcat Invite, Northwest ran two teams that both beat the previous school record in the event. The team with the new school record is made of Jaedy Commins, Luisarys Toledo, Bailey Blake, and Tiffany Hughey and they finished with a time of 3:43.94. The team at No. 2 consists of Chloe Saenz, Kennedi Cline, Haley Luna, and Kaylee Harp and they came in with a time of 3:44.20.
The team of Kennedi Cline, Chloe Saenz, Luisarys Toledo, and Tiffany Hughey posted the third fastest mark in the nation coming in at 3:44.37. Northwest has had two other teams that have also posted Div. II provo marks prior to last weekend's meet. Kennedi Cline, Jaedy Commins, Kaylee Harp, Bailey Blake finished in 3:50.00, and Chloe Saenz, Olivia Sattlefield, Haley Luna, Lydia McGlocklin came in at 3:52.01.
Distance Medley Relay
The women's distance medley relay was able to show out for the first time this season and posted a new school record with a time of 11:35.46. The relay team had Whitney Post, Tiffany Hughey, Kaylee Harp, and Caroline Cunningham competing.
Pentathlon
Anna Gladstone ended with 3,297 points she earned at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic meet. Shelby Butterfield tallied 3,247 points which she also earned at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic meet.
 
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS – NORTHWEST MEN
The Bearcat men have produced 15 NCAA provisional times/marks this season.
 
60 Meters
Joel Dos Santos ran a 6.83 at the Ichabod Invitational which tied his personal best. Enrico Cavagna recorded a time of 6.83 at the Northwest Open.
200 Meters
Truman Hare ran a time of 21.62 in the 200-meter dash at the Graduate Classic (3rd best in school history).
400 Meters
Truman Hare crossed the finish in 47.98 which is No. 4 in school history, and Prince Griffin finished the 400-meter dash in 48.49. Federico Crisci earned a time of 48.57 at the Bearcat Invite.
800 Meters
Riley Witt ran a time of 1:51.61 at the Bearcat Invite and is now No. 4 in Northwest history.
Mile
Reece Smith earned a Div. II provo time of 4:04.89 at the 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic which beats his own school record. Riley Witt posted a time of 4:08.27 in the men's mile and now holds the No. 3 spot in school history.
4x400 Relay
The 4x400 relay team of R.J. Williams, Enrico Cavagna, Danny Jantzen, and Federico Crisci crossed the finish with a time of 3:15.77.
Distance Medley Relay
At the 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic, the team of Riley Witt, Federico Crisci, Jake Norris, and Reece Smith ran a time of 9:42.85 which is a new school record. The distance medley relay team of Riley Witt, Gavyn Monday, Jake Norris, and Reece Smith earned a time of 9:47.54 at the Bearcat Invite.
High Jump
Two Bearcats have posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the men's high jump. Blake Morgan jumped 6' 10.25" (2.09m) and Miles Griffith jumped 6' 9" (2.06m).
Long Jump
Joel Dos Santos posted a mark of 23' 5.25" (7.14m) at the Bearcat Invite.
