Bearcats wrap up weekend competition at 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic, Ichabod Invitational

The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field teams finished weekend competition at both the Ichabod Invitational and the 8th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic.
 
Pittsburg, Kan. – 8th ANNUAL INDOOR GORILLA CLASSIC
 
Caroline Cunningham took first in the women's mile while setting a new school record with a time of 4:49.58. This is an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time.
 
Reece Smith finished third overall in the men's mile with a time of 4:04.89 which breaks his own school record in the event. This is an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time.
 
Jake Norris placed 10th in the men's 3000 meter run as he crossed the finish in 8:24.33. This time is the fifth fastest in school history.
 
 
Topeka, Kan. – ICHABOD INVITATIONAL
 
Ally Hammond took first place in the women's 60 meter hurdles with an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time of 8.64. Sarah Prickett finished fourth in 8.93, and Hannah Hatzenbuehler finished fifth in 9.03.
 
Chloe Saenz earned a first place finish in the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 55.46 which is a new personal best. This is an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time.
 
Northwest finished with three of the top four times in the women's 600 yard run. Jaedy Commins took first place (1:25.76), Haley Luna took second place (1:25.79), and Olivia Sattlefield took fourth place (1:26.37).
 
The Bearcats finished with four of the top seven times in the men's 600 yard run. R.J. Williams placed first with a time of 1:11.74 which is good for the eighth best time in school history. Logan Arellano placed second in 1:13.34, Danny Jantzen placed fourth in 1:14.25, and Zach Pittman placed seventh in 1:14.59.
 
Ally Hammond finished second overall in the women's 60 meter dash crossing the finish in 7.49 and breaking her own school record. This is also an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time. Lexie Gilbert took fourth with a time of 7.71.
 
Joel Dos Santos placed second in the men's 60 meter dash with an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time of 6.83. The time ties his personal best in the event. Dominic Sedlacek finished fifth crossing the finish in 6.88.
 
Alyna Thibault placed third in the women's mile with a time of 4:59.05. This is a personal best and replaces her spot in the school record book in the No. 3 spot.
 
Kyah Luhring took third place in the women's long jump with a distance of 17' 06.00" (5.33m).
 
Prince Griffin finished fourth in the men's 400 meter dash as he recorded a time of 48.77.
 
Lexie Gilbert earned a sixth place finish in the women's 200 meter dash finishing the race in 25.40.
 
Joel Dos Santos finished sixth in the men's long jump with a mark of 22' 04.50" (6.82m).
 
David Hipshire placed ninth in the men's weight throw with a distance of 53' 09.75" (16.40m).
