HAYS, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep of the Fort Hays State University Tigers.
Northwest won by set scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-18. The victory improves Northwest to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in MIAA play.
Northwest's
Avery Kemp tied for the fourth-highest attack percentage in a three-set match at .632 with 13 kills and one attack error in 19 attempts. Kemp had six kills in the first set, four in the second and three more in the final set.
The Bearcats hit .268 with 47 kills. FHSU hit .088 with 30 kills and 20 attack errors. Northwest tallied six service aces. The Bearcats notched 10 team blocks that featured seven block assists from
Abby Brunssen and five from
Ella Caffery.Â
Payton Kirchhoefer secured a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Kristen Ford led the squad with 18 digs.
Northwest will take on No. 9-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Kearney, Neb.
