MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team defeated
Livin' the Dream in an exhibition game tonight in Bearcat Arena, 109-57.
Lindsey Kelderman was the leading scorer as she finished with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Kelderman also pulled down six rebounds and dished out seven assists. Peyton Kelderman was the second leading scorer for the Bearcats as she finished with 15 points, three rebounds and one assist. Four different Bearcats scored double figures.
As a team, Northwest shot 55.8 percent (43-77) and 44.4 percent (16-36) from the three-point line. Northwest had a total of 28 assists in the game that made it easy for the Bearcats to score efficiently. Northwest tallied 55 total rebounds compared to Livin' the Dream's 28.
Northwest opened up to a quick 13-5 run in the first five minutes of the game.
Lindsey Kelderman had a total of nine points on 3-4 shooting from beyond the arc in the quarter. After the end of the first quarter, the Bearcats led
Livin' the Dream, 27-7.
At the half, Northwest led 61-24.
Lindsey Kelderman led the way with 14 points and behind her was
Peyton Kelderman with 12 points. Northwest shot 58 percent from the field in the first half, also going 11-19 from the three-point line. Caely
Kesten dished out nine assists in the first half to go along with her five points.
At the end of the third quarter, Northwest held a comfortable 86-38 lead.
Livin' The Dream's roster featured a trio of former Bearcats in Jaelyn Haggard, Mia Stillman and Zoie Hayward.
Northwest will open up the regular season at Southwest Minnesota State in the SMSU Classic in Marshall, Minn. on Friday, Nov. 10
