The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team is riding a four-match win streak as it closes out the MIAA regular season with two road matches this week.
The Bearcats (7-4-5 overall, 4-2-3 MIAA) have won four straight matches by shutouts. Northwest will look to extend its shutout streak of minutes that has reached 441 minutes over the last five matches.
Northwest will travel to Joplin, Mo., on Friday to take on the Missouri Southern Lions (0-14-2 overall, 0-8-1 MIAA). Northwest captured a 4-0 victory over MSSU when the teams met in Maryville on Sept. 22.
The Bearcats will wrap up MIAA regular season play Sunday in St. Joseph, Mo., when they take on the Missouri Western Griffons (5-6-5 overall, 3-3-3 MIAA). The Bearcats and Griffons battled to a 1-1 tie in Maryville on Sept. 15.
Northwest is one of five teams to have qualified for the 2023 MIAA Tournament. The top four seeds will play host to a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, Nov. 3. The semifinals and finals will be played at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan., on Nov. 9 and 11.

Kaylie Rock is currently tied for first place in the MIAA in game-winning goals with four. Rock is also tied for second in goals overall with nine on the season.
Rock is tied for No. 10 in the nation in game-winning goals and tied for No. 30 in goals scored.
Ximena Arnau and Rock are tied for third overall in the MIAA in assists with four a piece.
Lily Ellis ranks second in the MIAA in total saves with 64 thus far and also holds a fourth-place ranking in shutouts (6).
As a team, Northwest holds a second-place ranking in the league in shots taken (253), tied for third in total goals (28), and third in assists (21.
Sophomore Moira Franck was named MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Lily Ellis earned the MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week.
Franck was a defensive force in helping Northwest record a pair of shutout road wins over Northeastern State and Rogers State. Franck was credited with 14 defensive duals won and she intercepted seven passes in the two wins. Franck played all 180 minutes of action in Tahlequah and Claremore. NSU was limited to 16 shots (11 on-goal), while Rogers State was held to 15 shots (11 on-goal).
Ellis added two more shutouts as Northwest tallied its fourth consecutive clean sheet victory in MIAA play. Ellis made 22 total saves in the two wins over Northeastern State and Rogers State. Ellis tallied 11 saves in Friday's 2-0 win at Northeastern State. She added 11 more saves in Sunday's 1-0 victory at Rogers State. Ellis has recorded a school record 19 career shutouts with six of them coming this season. It is the third time Ellis has earned the MIAA's Goalkeeper of the Week award in her Bearcat career.
