WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State women's golf team set a new 18-hole school record while finishing in sixth place as a team in the fall finale at the Midwest Intercollegiate held at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri.Â
Northwest shot a second round 295 (+15) and climbed five spots on the leaderboard to end the fall season in dramatic fashion. Northwest tallied a two-round total of 618 (+58) which is tied for second best all time in program history. This is the first time in program history that a team has posted a sub 300 score, 295 was the second best score on the day trailing only Central Missouri who posted a 289.Â
Paige Hoffman tied the program's best 18-hole score for an individual carding a second round 68 (-2). This ties Hoffmans personal best which was set last spring in the NCAA Central Region. The Junior from West Des Moines, Iowa carded five birdies, three bogeys and 10 pars en route to her record tying performance.Â
Hoffman finished tied for 10th and climbed 40 spots on the leaderboard on the day, Hoffman now has 15 top-10 finishes in her Bearcat career which is fourth best in program history in that category.
Madilyne Schlaepfer fired a second round 74 (+4) to finish tied for 14th. Schlaepfer tallied a two-round total of 153 (+13).
Senior
Elly Speece continued her run of good golf firing a second round 75 (+5) to finish tied for 14th. Speece posted a two-round score of 153 (+13).
Lauren Wood fired a final round 78 (+8) to finish tied for 62nd.
Mules National Golf Club played tough all tournament with a scoring average of 82.49.
Northwest will be back in action next spring with the schedule to be announced at a later date.
