No. 6 Northwest disposes of Rogers State, 87-65

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 6-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack in snaring an 87-65 home win over Rogers State University at Bearcat Arena.

Northwest moves its mark to 13-1 overall and 6-1 in MIAA play. Rogers State falls to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in league play.

The Bearcats have five players in double-figure scoring led by freshman Bennett Stirtz's 16 points.

Northwest drained 28-of-32 free throws, while Rogers State went 6-of-10 at the line. Northwest dropped in 19-of-22 free throws in the first half and then went 9-of-10 in the second half. RSU was 6-of-7 at the line at the half and went 0-for-3 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.

Northwest hit on 57.5% of its shots from the field. The Bearcats have shot 50.0% or better in 11 of its 14 games this season.

The Bearcats knocked in 13 three-pointers. Seven different Bearcats buried a triple in the victory.

Northwest will return to action Saturday at home against Missouri Western. Tip is set for 3:30 p.m. in Bearcat Arena.
