Track and Field hosts Northwest Open in Hughes Fieldhouse

The Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field teams are preparing to compete at the Northwest Open Saturday, Jan. 21.
 
Both running and field events will begin at 11:30 a.m. inside Hughes Fieldhouse.
 
Spectators are asked to enter through the upper East doors. Admission is $5 and will be taken at the door.

Team expected to attend this weekend include: Baker, Columbia (Mo.), Dodge City CC, Graceland, Grand View, Iowa Western CC, MidAmerica Nazarene, Midland, Missouri Valley, Missouri Western, Missouri-St. Louis, Nebraska-Kearney, Park, Southwestern CC, St. Mary (Kan.) and Truman State.
 
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS – NORTHWEST WOMEN
The Bearcat women have produced 10 NCAA provisional qualifying times/marks this season.

60 Meters
Ally Hammond is ranked No. 18 in the nation with a time of 7.57.

60 Hurdles
Ally Hammond holds the No. 8 spot in the nation as she crossed the finish in 8.67.

200 Meters
Tiffany Hughey is No. 5 in the nation in the 200-meter dash (24.56). Hughey earned this time at the first meet of the season. Kennedi Cline ran the 18th fastest time (24.88) in the nation last weekend at the Graduate Classic.

400 Meters
Tiffany Hughey ranks second in the 400-meter dash (54.12) and Luisarys Toledo ranks right behind Hughey in third (54.70).

5000 Meters
Caroline Cunningham holds the No. 6 time in the nation which is also a new school record at Northwest (16:52.48).

4x400 Relay
The team of Kennedi Cline, Chloe Saenz, Luisarys Toledo, and Tiffany Hughey posted the fastest time in school history as well as the fastest Div. II time this season coming in at 3:44.37.

Pentathlon
Anna Gladstone ranks recorded 3,297 points she earned at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic meet. Shelby Butterfield earned 3,247 points which she also earned at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic meet. Both are NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying marks. 
 
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS – NORTHWEST MEN
The Bearcat men have produced six NCAA provisional times/marks this season.

200 Meters
Truman Hare ran a 21.62 200-meter dash at the Graduate Classic as he now ranks No. 14 in the nation.

400 Meters
Truman Hare holds the No. 6 spot in the event (48.41). Prince Griffin is No. 11 in the nation as he finished the 400-meter dash in 48.49.

High Jump
Two Bearcats have posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the men's high jump. Blake Morgan is tied for 11th at 6' 10.25" (2.09m) and Miles Griffith is tied for 17th at 6' 9" (2.06m).

Long Jump
Joel Dos Santos posted a mark of 23' 5.25" (7.14m), which is an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying mark.
