The Northwest Missouri State University women's 4x400 relay squad set a school record to lead the way at the Graduate Classic in Lincoln, Neb.
The Bearcat quartet of
Kennedi Cline,
Chloe Saenz,
Luisarys Toledo and
Tiffany Hughey took first place with a school-record breaking clocking of 3:44.37. The previous mark was set last March at 3:44.49. Today's mark is an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time. The Bearcat women also had a squad that finished fifth as
Olivia Sattlefield,
Haley Luna,
Jaedy Commins, and
Kaylee Harp earned a time of 3:54.49.
Ally Hammond finished third overall in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.84 as well as third in the 60-meter dash as she recorded a time of 7.64 which are both NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying times. Teammate
Lexie Gilbert placed seventh in the 60-meter dash crossing the finish in 7.81.
Enrico Cavagna placed third in the men's 60-meter dash as he is now tied for eight place in school history crossing the line in 6.88.
Dominic Sedlacek finished fifth overall (6.91), and
Joel Dos Santos came in sixth (6.93).
Kemuel Sloan took first place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 47'00.75" (14.34m). Sloan's mark is now the eighth best in school history.
Blake Morgan earned a fifth-place finish in the men's high jump as he jumped 6'08.75" (2.05m) and produced an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying mark.
Miles Griffith placed 10th in the event with a height of 6'06.75" (2.00m).
Kaylee Harp took third in the women's 600-meter run with a time of 1:37.23. Harp is now the fifth best time in Northwest history. Teammate
Bailey Blake placed fifth in the 600-meter run as she crossed the finish in 1:37.48.
Truman Hare placed first in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.62 which moves him up to No. 3 in the school record books and also gives him an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time.
Enrico Cavagna finished seventh overall as he recorded a time of 22.03.
In the women's 200-meter dash,
Kennedi Cline took third place crossing the finish line at 24.88 to put her at the sixth-best time in Northwest history as well as earning an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying time.
Chloe Saenz took fifth place with a time of 25.38 to give her the 11
th best time in school history.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
R.J. Williams,
Logan Arellano,
Danny Jantzen, and
Federico Crisci earned a fifth-place finish running a time of 3:17.53.
Northwest will compete again next weekend at the Northwest Open in Hughes Fieldhouse Saturday, Jan. 21.
