LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University 4x100 relay squads led the Bearcat men's and women's track & field teams at the Rock Chalk Classic.
The men's 4x100 team of
Aaron Brewster,
Enrico Cavagna,
Prince Griffin and
Marcus Klein posted the ninth-best time (41.41) in school history. The Bearcats placed fourth in the event only being edged out by Division I programs in Kansas, Tulsa and South Dakota State.
The women's 4x100 relay squad of
Chloe Saenz,
Lexie Gilbert,
Kyah Luhring and
Ally Hammond pulled out a third-place effort with a time of 47.10. Northwest was edged out for the event title by Wichita State and Lincoln.
Chloe Saenz offered up a fourth-place tally with an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the women's 400-meter race. Saenz was clocked at 55.73, which is a personal-best in the outdoor competition. Her 55.73 ranks as the 27th-best time in the nation this spring.
Enrico Cavagna secured a sixth-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.73.
Jake Norris notched a seventh-place finish in the men's 1,500-meter dash with a time of 4:00.02.
Alyna Thibault posted the seventh-best time of the day in the women's 1,500 meters. Thibault earned a time of 4:41.70. Thibault's time was a personal-best by nearly five seconds.
Bailey Hays put up a personal-best in the women's 5,000-meter race (19:22.99).
Jacob Nkamasiai scored an eighth-place finish (14:54.72) and
Fedrick Kipyego (15:13.43) notched a 10th-place finish in the men's 5,000-meter race.
