CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State University Hillcats registered a 7-1 win over the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat baseball team in game one of a three-game series.
Rogers State (25-22 overall, 16-15 MIAA) put up nine runs and seven hits on Northwest starter
Max Spitzmiller. Spitzmiller pitched his seventh complete game of the season as he fell to 6-7 overall. Northwest (18-26 overall, 12-19 MIAA) tallied eight hits, but managed to produce only one run.
The Hillcats got on the board with a single run in the third, before adding four runs in the fourth to up their lead to 5-0.
Jordan Peck drove in Northwest's only run of the day with a single right field in the sixth. Peck's single scored

Rogers State put up two more runs in the eighth to lengthen its margin to 7-1.
Northwest and Rogers State will meet for game two on Saturday at 2 p.m.
