Kwakernaak notches All-MIAA First-Team honors

The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team had seven student-athletes earn All-MIAA honors, including first-team status at No. 6 singles for Tessa Kwakernaak.

Tessa Kwakernaak - No. 6 singles
Kwakernaak posted a record of 4-1 at No. 6 singles in MIAA play. On the season, Kwakernaak has a singles mark of 11-8 overall and 10-7 in dual action.

Second Team
Julia Aliseda - No. 3 singles
Aliseda tallied a 6-2 mark in MIAA action at No. 3 singles. Aliseda is 17-8 in singles play this season. 

Vera Alenicheva/Tessa Kwakernaak - No. 2 doubles
Alenicheva and Kwakernaak went 6-1 in MIAA at No. 2 doubles. The pairing posted an overall mark of 12-3 this season.

Vera Alenicheva - No. 1 singles
Alenicheva had a record of 4-4 at No. 1 singles in MIAA matches. She has a season mark of 16-8 in singles play.

Tyffaine Pais - No. 2 singles
Pais went 3-3 in MIAA singles matches. Pais has posted a season record of 9-5 in singles action.

Sofia Pignataro - No. 4 singles
Pignataro notched a mark of 4-3 in MIAA No. 4 singles play. Pignataro has a season mark of 13-9 overall, including a 12-3 record in dual matches.

Carolina Lima De Oliveira - No. 5 singles
De Oliveira secured a 5-3 singles record in MIAA dual matches. De Oliveira has gone 15-6 in dual play this spring.

Alexandra Dodashev/Sofia Pignataro - No. 1 doubles
The No. 1 doubles pairing of Dodashev and Pignataro went 3-1 in MIAA dual matches.

Tyffaine Pais/Julia Aliseda - No. 3 doubles
Northwest's No. 3 doubles duo of Pais and Aliseda won all three matches they played in MIAA dual action.

The Bearcat women are 15-8 overall and will take on No. 5-seeded Nebraska-Kearney in one of the MIAA Tournament quarterfinal matches on Friday. The Bearcats and Lopers will get underway at 10 a.m. in Edmond, Okla., at the Edmond Center Court. Fans can follow the action with live results.
