NEWTON, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's golf team dipped to seventh place following round two of the 2022 MIAA Golf Championship held at Sand Creek Station.

The Bearcat women shot a second-round team score of 333 for a two-round total of 643. Nebraska-Kearney holds down the second-round lead in the team race at 614.

Elly Speece was the lone Bearcat to break 80 in the second round. Speece carded a round of 76 for a two-round total of 157. Speece is tied for 13th overall.

The Bearcats were only able to produce two birdies on Friday after having 10 in the opening round. Morgan Thiele scored a birdie on No. 18, while Speece tallied a birdie on No. 15.

The third and final round is set for Saturday.
