LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field teams put a cap on their trip to the West Coast with a pair of school-record breaking performances at the Beach Invitational.
Head coach
Brandon Masters summed up the performances this weekend by the Bearcats in California.
"We had a fantastic showing for the group out here with four meets in four days," Masters said. "We had a ton of personal bests, provisional qualifiers and school records. I'm so proud of our folks in preparing for each event and each day with professionalism. Plus, we had a blast together."
Northwest's 4x100 relay men's team of
Enrico Cavagna,
Joel Dos Santos,
Marcus Klein and
Prince Griffin took down a 14-year-old outdoor school record at the Beach Invitational. The foursome breezed to a time of 40.78, bettering the old mark of 40.8 set by Kendall Wright, John Miles, Sheldon Cook and E.J. Falkner on May 10, 2008. The Bearcat 4x100 relay placed fourth in the meet, trailing only squads from North Texas (40.45), South Dakota (40.62) and Air Force (40.74).
