Northwest Missouri State University sophomore Andrea Zamurri has been named the MIAA/GAC North Division's men's tennis athlete of the week.

No. 12-ranked Zamurri picked up a pair of singles wins over ranked foes in leading Northwest to a pair of dual victories.

Zamurri topped No. 16-ranked Alex Martinez Roca (Midwestern State) in three sets last Friday in Wichita Falls, Texas. Zamurri tallied the victory by scores of 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Zamurri followed that up with a straight-sets win over No. 44-ranked Raul-Alin Dicu (Washburn) on Saturday. Zamurri knocked off Dicu by the count of 6-2, 6-4.

Zamurri is 12-2 at No. 1 singles this spring. Overall, Zamurri has posted a singles mark of 17-5 this season.
